PHPLIB works fine with either (and quite a few other RDBMS packages).
MySQL is not in the same league as PostgreSQL, and you've made the correct
choice.
If you're a MySQL bigot, don't bother flaming me. The lack of
subselects is, by itself, a large enough problem to back up the above
statement. And that's just a start.
