I'd be against that if the posts dropped off completely.  The problem is 
that some users may post solutions to particularly rare but, hard to 
resolve problems or, may post about problems that most users don't 
understand ... until they are forced to deal with them by encountering the 
specific conditions that produce the problem.  As long as even those posts 
could be pulled up by a search or enough skimming, ranking might work okay.
