How does one know that the package exists in PEAR if not from the PEAR 
website and documentation?   I understand not duplicating the actual 
interface documentation, but is it referenced anywhere by PEAR?

I'm sure there are many that didn't know you had taken the time to port 
template.inc to PEAR.
