My situation here is similar to Frank's, although I have enough customer pages in use using PHPlib that I'm not going abandon it altogether - just integrate it into a PHP5 environment as-is. I've re-written some of the PHPlib classes to make use of PEAR packages, and am using these for new work. In this, I've preserved the PHPlib API inasmuch as possible since I'm familiar with it. The general configuration that I've developed for both new and old work moved into a PHP5 environment is flexible enough to allow me to change a couple of files and fully support PHPlib, or some other set of classes as I wish. Yes, I'd be quite interested in seeing PHPlib updated so as to be fully compatible with PHP5 "out of the box". The main reason I'm moving away from it is that the project appears to be more or less abandoned. -- Lindsay Haisley | "In an open world, | PGP public key FMP Computer Services | who needs Windows | available at 512-259-1190 | or Gates" | http://pubkeys.fmp.com http://www.fmp.com | | |
