This release adds new databases (for ordering and constructs) to phplabware. Also, 'views' now allow every user to customize the fields they want to see in table as well as record mode. Check out the change log for more details

The improvements we made over the last half a year are available in this release. Noteworthy are the datatypes sequence and image, and the beginning of a report mechanism (still quite hidden, but dig around in the table admin stuff and find out how easy it is to make a html layout for a report). With this release phplabware becomes a full-fledged web-based interface to SQL databases.

PhpLabware is a relational database management system with features not unlike those found in commercial applications as Filemaker and Access. However, phpLabware is completely web-based. Databases can be defined inside a webbrowser, and their functionality can be extended using plugins written in php. PhpLabware uses adodb as the database interface and has been tested with Postgresql and MySQL as SQL engine. Since phpLabware was developed for life science research laboratories, the distribution includes modules dealing with pdf reprints (using info from the Pubmed database), pdb structure files, antibodies, and protocols.
