Major cleanup of the PHP:IRC site

The site for PHP:IRC http://PHPIRC.VJTD3.com has had major cleanups and updates. Some new resources and example uses of the code have been posted. An example online ID Decoder is one example.

These have also been quite a few updates to the SnapShots for PHP:IRC - Applet. Themes are still being worked on and code cleanup/remove debug stuff still has to be done but it's getting there.

The tracker for bugs is starting to be used now so thats a great place to post bugs. The todo list is finaly shrinking as fast as it grows with things to do. A lot of functions are still being worked on to make them more friendly to outside devolopers but much progress is being made.... read more

decode and encode CGI:IRC and PHP:IRC user id in mIRC

What does this script do?
This mIRC script lets you decode and encode the id and ip of CGI:IRC and
PHP:IRC users.

How do I use this script?
Move PHP-IRC.mrc to your mIRC directory.
Type "/load -rs PHP-IRC.mrc" in mIRC.

If all went well the script will say it's version and name and the
functions above will work.

There isn't much help since there is not much to it. More is planned for
the script for more details about the user but for now the main goal was
to have something simple that works.... read more

First version (0.0.1) of PHP:IRC - YaBB

Before I used php, I used cgi and used YaBB. The phpBB modification reminded me of this forum and the thought to make a modification for it came to mind as well.

Screen Shot:
http://phpirc.sourceforge.net/YaBB.gif

What does this modification do exactly?

*Uses username of logged in user for nickname.
*If not logged the nickname is PHPIRC-rand(0,1000).
*Auto join a channel, or channels.
*Forced valid username to use PHP:IRC applet. (If set to do so in PHP:IRC - Applet config and in PHP:IRC - YaBB settings.)... read more

PHP:IRC - Applet v2.6 Released - Important updates

PHP:IRC - Applet v2.6 Released - Important updates for non *nix users and phpBB users.

There were tons of updates, the biggest are changes to the main parts of the code to allow for non *nix servers to run PHP:IRC and PHP:IRC to be intergrated into phpBB. There were also a lot of cleanups and optimizations of parts of the code.

I strongly suggest using the package monitoring at http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpirc (click the envolope icon next to the download) this will keep you informed of updates.... read more

First version (0.0.1) of PHP:IRC - phpBB

I've personaly not used phpBB, but it was mentioned to me by a person that uses phpBB that a modification would be good for them to use PHP:IRC with phpBB. Since phpBB is in the same family of coding of sorts I've worked on some small modifications....

I've noticed others are working on modifications to get (fill in favorite IRC applet name here) to work with phpBB, depending on how you have your IRC applet client setup this modification could potentialy work for you aswell. (For example CGI:IRC this works with easily you just need to change the path and stuff.)... read more

Welcome to the second release of PHP:IRC

Welcome to the second release of PHP:IRC

All(?) the browser compadabailty problems are fixed. The design cleaned up a bit. A CGI:IRC style connecting ident was added to prevent abuse. CGI:IRC style arctuture in /tmp for applet connections and administration (next release?) for PHP:IRC and CGI:IRC. The "stalls" in sending are fixed. Then the common minor fixes of stuff is in there aswell. The code in this release is very sloppy. A lot of commented junk and bits of code being played with are there. Next release will have a cleanup of the code in general and removal of all the current (but replaced with help type) comments. this version works pretty well but there is alot left todo. In the next couple weeks I will do another release (v3) that will have almost everything done for the basics. PHP:IRC will also use a configuration file.... read more

PHP:IRC First Release

Well, after a while of things being quiet without a release I'm posting the first release and the second will be around the corner. The goal of this release is to give a taste of things to come. In this version a large percent of the code is old and about to be replaced with a new version that was completely recoded. This code helps for ones looking to take part in future versions or intrested in it's past versions. Unless you want to pour though all the source to figure out how it all works wait a weekish for the next release. This version was intended to be designed around PU and as opensource but down the road PU decided not to use it. The next version has most refrences to PU removed. Currently the code only works for *nix type systems because php only have support of socket_* for linux. The zip archive is intended for windows users to download and easily decompress for uploads. The next version has a ton of fixes for the javascript, html, dhtml, and php scripts. The next version also has fixes so all browsers show right. Following versions will have a windows usable version aswell.... read more
