#180 phpIPAM slow on loading subnet (/subnets/1/7/)

After upgrading the the latest version of phpIPAM its now taking 8 minutes 40 seconds to load a subnet (timed with my phone's timer). Other pages seem to load normally.

I don't see any errors in the apache error log and the page does eventually load given sufficient time. I've rebooted my web server, and my database server and running top on each I'm not seeing any excessive CPU, Memory or Disk I/O.

How can I debug why this is happening? I only have 126 IPs in my IP range so hardly a big range.

Do you have dns resolving enabled under settings ? If yes try to disable.

Using xdebug I figured out the issue - for some reason with name servers set the page takes a long time to load. Disable name servers and the page loads within a few seconds.

So presumably the page is trying to do DNS lookups when it loads? Its possible that the server can't reach the public name servers from its network segment and that causes the app to stall on loading.

Hi, yes. If DNS servers are set and "Resolve DNS names" is enabled under administration phpipam will query DNS servers for all entries with empty hostname. If the cannot be reached it will take long time to execute.

From 1.2 on you can set different set of nameservers under administration and then select those NS for specific subnet.

Or disable resoving which is a smart way to go. If you need to resolve edit IP address and click "check for hostname", it will wuery NS attached to subnet.

Hi. We are been experiencing a very slow progress in the application to access a subnet already registered, but that does not occur with all subnets, with only a few. The application takes up to 5 minutes to answer.

I have version 1.2 of PHPIPAM with 236 subnets and over 4300 ipv4.

You know what it can be?

    Hi

I have the same problem, I had defined the local DNS.
Off it opens faster the different subnet.
And 'possible to move the DNS resolution, only when it is done the manual discovery?
