[Phpipam-development] wanting to see if I can extend the Devices.

Disclaimer: I'm not a developer, nor do I know php... yet.
so I'm wanting to see if I can extend the devices portion of Phpipam. if it
works out well I want it to be able to integrate it with a fresh install or
existing installs... can you give me your opinion on how to achieve this.

here is what I'm going to try and do. integrate/rewrite patchmaker (
http://www.cs.princeton.edu/patchmaker/) for a physical display of my
network.

I'm not ready to start working may way through this until I know how to
make it "drop in"

all thoughts are welcome.
