Is it possible to parent devices from other devices and perhaps assign a device to a parent port.

We have a number of customer switches that connect to a port on a parent switch. Can this be achieved from within PHPIPAM, so we can track the IP address of the customer device but also the parent switch and port it is connected.

Regards,

Alun.

We could really use this as well - for a Device to have an entry for Device and Port, just like an IP address entry.
Really cool at that point would be an option to click to show the pathway for an entry - it would search repeatedly for the device to which the entry is connected to show the full pathway from IP address to device to device (to device....). At worst in most cases it would do four or five searches, which would still be pretty quick. That's why you probably wouldn't want to show that by default, though.

Another use case would be a virtual device such as a VM that you may have as a child to a parent physical device such as a hypervisor server.
