Hello, First off I'd like to thank all those who donated time into the PHP iCalendar project. I've had alot of fun working on it from scratch and helping me learn PHP and CVS. I'm at a point now where I have to take a serious look at my commitment to the project. I've come to the conclusion that with an impending marriage (and kids) as well as other personal projects/hobbies, I no longer have the time I used to, to work on PHP iCalendar. I'm also a bit strung by work, which precludes me from adding certain things into PHP iCalendar (like adding events) because I've already done those things for my day job. I'd like to know who is serious about leading this project from here on out. I'd be happy to keep the site up and if need be give the code to move to another server. If you're interested please reply to this list. Thanks, Chad |

Hello, it's a pity, that you "stop" working on PHP iCalendar, but I understand=20 your priorities. So good luck and lot of fun and may be you participate=20 in some other way in the future development of PHP iCalendar! Thanks for the great work! Because I've been looking for a long time for a tool like PHP iCalendar=20 as a stand alone application or the functionality of PHP iCalendar in=20 groupwaretools like OpenGroupware, eGroupWare ...I'd like to participate=20 in the growth and design of PHP iCalendar. I'm not a developer (yet) and my priority is the IT Koordinaton and=20 Network/Service adminstration at the Filmakademie Baden-W=FCrttemberg (we= =20 run a Windows/Linux/Apple Mac/IE/Mozilla/Netscate/Opera/... network), so=20 I'm more on the users side, but maintenance of a webpage/dokumentation=20 and supporting developers would be something I would like to do. Also=20 may be doing englisch to german translation, testing, coordinating stuff=20 etc. Thats my offer - more may be come. Hi All, Chad, as a busy dad myself, I fully understand your judgement.. :-) I think you've been doing a great job so far, among other keeping the =20= project focused in times with a gazillian feature requests. Like you, I don't have time to do a lot of development, and like G=F6tz =20= I'm not that much a developer, although I do make some PHP frome time =20= to time. I would love to give the time I can find, allthough it's gonna be =20 hard to estimate what that may be. Best wishes for your marriage and future kids. Hope to see you on the =20= list from time to time. Jakob Peterh=E4nsel 'I don't have to try to be a sex bomb, I am one!' - Kylie Minogue Email: ja...@hj... As we use phpicalendar already in the system then I would be more than happy to take over/help with the project as I already have experience of managing an Open Source Project. The company that I work for sponsors the development of EGS, and would be more than happy to put some time towards developing phpicalendar with help from all the existing developers. I am sure you may have had other people contact you off list and of course you will choose the person(s) you feel most comfortable/able to lead the project, so I wanted you to have our offer of help. Please feel free to contact me on/off list if you want to quiz me anymore! Many Thanks Jake |

Thanks Jake, I've added you to the developer list and given CVS access. Obviously I'll not just outright turn over the project, as I think I'd be most comfortable turning it over to an (somewhat) active developer who is familiar with the code. If you're still interested please take a look at CVS and the current state of the project/bugs/patches and feel free to dig in.
