As a sidenote to Jared's email, if you're new to mandrake, you should=20 already have the Apache webserver built in too... You just have to turn=20= it on. =46rom the mandrake info page: "The Mandrake Control Center provides a single location to access all=20 the necessary hardware and system configuration utilities. The Mandrake=20= Control Center includes an extensive selection of graphical utilities=20 and wizards for quickly and easily setting up many popular services,=20 including the Apache web server, Postfix email server, Shorewall=20 firewall utility, and many others." Also, "Apache 1.3.26/AdvancedExtranetServer includes "out of the box" support=20= for dozens of modular extensions including mod_perl 1.3.26, mod_ssl=20 2.8.10, mod_frontpage 1.6.1 and many others. Apache2 is also provided=20 as an option in the "contrib" packages and allows fast web server. The PHP 4.2.3 scripting language contains built-in support for LDAP,=20= MySQL, PostgreSQL and Unix-ODBC." I'm not familiar with Mandrake, though, so good luck... :) Jordan On Monday, October 28, 2002, at 03:01 PM, Jon Mark Allen wrote: > I just discovered phpicalendar today.=A0 Great idea!!=A0 I think this = will=20 > be perfect for what I'm trying to do.=A0 However, I am (unfortunately)=20= > completely unfamiliar with Macs and, hence, have no idea what Web=20 > sharing is?=A0 (BTW, I'm running Mandrake Linux 9.0)=A0 I read in the=20= > README file to enable Web Sharing if it wasn't already, but I have no=20= > idea what it is and/or where to look.=A0 I searched in the FAQs, but=20= > didn't find anything regarding this question. > > I've uncompressed the files to the desired location and edited=20 > config.inc.php to reflect the correct path, however when I go to the=20= > phpcalendar/index.php page, nothing comes up? > > Any help would be greatly appreciated. > > Thanks! > > Jon Mark > |
