[PHPiCalendar-DEV] Sending out alarms

I lost track of the discussion about integrating the alarm functionality...
What is the state of the alarm parsing?

I played around with cron/crontab and figured out a way to directly add
alarms to the crontab (of the user running the web server that is...). If I
look at CVS I come to the conclusion that there isn't yet a full alarm
parser, is there?
I'd gladed write and integrate the code to handle the cron manipulation.
