#672 Long Event Descriptions Cut

There are several bug reports about how long event descriptions are cut due to (I guess) the http post method to show an event's details in the pop-up. But the bug resolutions are conflicting. One says "will not support" while others seems to imply there is a fix-in-the-works using java script. Can we resolve this? If there is a fix, please link to the updated php files so I can replace the ones in my installation. Thank you!
