#4 IE logs me out

Firefox, chrome, work fine, but IE logs me out when I select add a director or upload from the admin menu. Also, when I set debug mode to 3, it somehow invalidates my admin password and I have to re-install.

I have this on several other sites that do NOT have this problem, so assume some configuration is the problem -- but what?
