Some folks have expressed an interest in the "historical events" patch, so here's my personal version 'beta.1.' Improvements, suggestions, comments welcome.

Thomas, a very good idea. It would be even better if we could all do the same, then others could cut/paste whatever they need from each different file. Unfortunately on Source Forge only the original submitter (or perhaps admin) can add files to a single tracker item.
Can anyone suggest an alternative? If there's no other way to do it here, I would be happy to open a place on www.pgvthemes.com for it.

Right now after using the histo.en.php I can't see the historic events in the timeline diagramm. What could be missing?
Another idea for the future: Would it be possible to link these historical events to a certain country or even place hierarchy (level 1,2,3,4 of the places). This would mean for persons, whose personal events are in certain regions, only those historical events are shown?

The title of this 'patch' may have been misleading. histo.en.php is not designed to show on the timeline chart. The only place the information appears is on the Individual Facts & Detials tab for each individual. Once the file exists you will get a new 'checkbox,. Tick that and the relevant historic events within the persons lifetime will be listed among the their other revents (birth marriage, death etc).

I have updated the "Timeline/Historical Events" (American version) file somewhat, adding the Alaska Purchase, Transcontinental Railroad completion, acquisition of California & New Mexico, etc. The second file, "histo2.en.php" is the same with the U.S. Presidents added (which I think makes it look too 'busy.') Simply change the name by deleting the "2" if you prefer that version. The file should be added to the /languages folder.
