Hi Michael,

There shouldn't be any files with \ or / in their names (operating
systems won't allow you to create files with those characters in their
names).

I wasn't sure what a 553 error was, so I did some googling and found
this:

It looks like your host does not allow files which start with a "."
period.  There are a few files in the PGV releases that start with a
".":
.cvsignore
.htaccess
Includes/.htaccess
Index/.htaccess

The apache webserver looks for .htaccess files for settings and we
include some files for convenience.

Just erase the files that start with a .

What can I do? I can not imagine this is the only company with an =20
issue about \

Actually the server is running Linux.

I downloaded another version of ZIP file for 3.3.7 and decompressed  
on my machine, there are some oddly named file names in the same  
place (the ISR folder) this time with garbled names). Someone may  
want to check that there is no file corruption going on for those files.

Odd, I am running OS X on my local machine and it handles unicode (or  
so I thought).

[Phpgedview-talk] Adding Places

I was wondering if there any instructions anyplace for adding a new  
country to places? I want to add Malta and some towns.

If there are not instructions, can I do it by just following what is  
done for other countries? Creating a gif, txt and html file?

Each country has its own folder under places that is the ISO 3-letter
country code (MLT for Malta).  Also, you may need to add an entry to
the $countries array in languages/countries.en.php.  After that, just
create the gif, txt, and htm files.
