Ok, that sounds reasonable--but could you save me some time navigating sourceforge by telling me where to go to grab the source? Is there a url to a zip file with everything in it that I can download? I really should get used to sourceforge at some point but I find the layout of the site awkward -- maybe because I'm usually in a hurry when I go there. Thanks. Oh, and one more think: I use a service provider and therefore only have ftp access to the site and no shell priveleges for files I up/download. My problem is that if I put my index folder outside public_html, I don't know the raw address of the index directory, which also contains the gedcom file(s) (or should those be put outside index?). What I mean is, when I type pwd in ftp I get "/pgv/index for the location of index and public_html/pgv/ for my pgv installation source. What I don't know is the full address of my login on the server. So when I go to add a gedcom, it asks me for the address where the gedcoms are located and I don't know what to type. Do I need this raw address in order for the php files to work? And therefore, if the server is changed to put the ftp folders elsewhere, will that break pgv unless I change the paths? Ok, now I am going to recommend that you scrap the entire site and start over. It may be that some of your files are corrupted because editconfig_gedcom.php should be much bigger than 109 lines. You might also want to try the 4.1 beta 6 release. It is quite stable. --John > -----Original Message----- > From: php...@li...
