Hi Peter -- thanks for the link -- I uploaded the gedcom into the index folder which I put outsidepublic_html as directed, and changed its permissions to writable (777) As I said, I followed the readme carefully. I am trying some other things, but I am getting close to my deadline and really need this thing to be working TAhanks to everyone who responded. more later. --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "peter" <pet...@hc...> To: "Laura Eaves" <le...@ca...>; "All About PhpGedView" <php...@li...> Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2007 6:19 AM Subject: Re: [Phpgedview-talk] not according to docs...??? Laura, I'm confusing about al your questions, may be that's the problem. At seems you have to do an upload of the gedcom file. When you are logged on as admin, you can upload the gedcom files with the admin option or by mygedview submenu, manage gedcom, there are different options. After that you manage the users, option manage users, witch are authorized for that gedcom file. The help file is in the help menu and is normally ready after a good install working, with the index you can find the info. Also at the pgvsite is an userguide and other info available. http://wiki.phpgedview.net/en/index.php/Installation_Guide The favorities are to be filled with your persons of the gedcomfile at a later moment when you are running. The application need some time to learn it and using al the options. It is to prefer strongly to start pgv with the standard configuration, after good running you make your own changes/adjustments, step by step.
