first, i see that this has been selected to go to both the original message 
writer and to the list... i don't know why thunderbird has done that but if it 
is a default setting in the list and indicated by the headers, it may explain 
why this list appears to be so quiet...

anyway, i'm going to leave it as is so that the OP gets a copy of this message 
directly instead of having to wait for her to get back over to SF and wade thru 
the online messages...

i wouldn't say that you've lost a year of work... you mention interfacing with 
paf and i'm wondering if you mean paf's data files directly instead of having to 
use gedcom as an intermediate transfer method... also, with what you've done, 
you may have other ideas that could be implemented and you may be able to 
contribute to the project by coding and presenting those mods to the maintainers...

i'd love to see something that could interface with paf as well as be able to 
display and be worked with via the web... "we" prefer to work with paf and in 
its environment and would embrace having a web interface that others could 
access for preusal or editing if they've been granted those capabilities...

i'm not personally aware of any other blind members of the pgpgedview community...

right... the only place that i'm immediately aware of possible problems is 
obviously in the use of graphics... hopefully all the graphics carry ALT text so 
that you can see them by their words...

i feel your frustration, laura... i remember when i was new to sourceforge and 
how convoluted things seemed... SF has mirror sites all over the world to held 
spread the load... this is especially true for the files stored for 
downloading... SF looks at your IP number and attempts to send you to a server 
close to you for downloading files... personally, i've had problems with this 
over the years as they always want to try to force me to virginia since i'm in 
north carolina... the problem with this is that i'm some 15 hops from their site 
in VA whereas i'm only 4 or 5 from other places like the university of 
minnesota's mirror... once they direct you to a mirror, then it is a matter of 
waiting for the download to start automatically... generally this is ok unless 
you have protections in place to prevent popups and other cruft that the 
internet has become infested with...

when going to download, you also have to select the filename in the chart and 
not any of the other references linked to it... some are changelogs, readmes, 
documentation, statistics, and more...

anyway, here's a direct link to the full version of the latest release... this 
archive also contains all the additional languages so that visitors from other 
places can read your site's interface in their native language...
