I had many problems the first time, but they were related to premature time outs. I finally found all of the places to change the time limit and it loaded using MySQL. It never did work with the index option. I uploaded it using a previous version. I upgraded to the current version, and also upgraded to PHP 5, then because of severe performance problems (up to 2 minutes to just login) deleted php5 and reinstalled 4. My login time dropped back to 12-13 seconds. I have been lax in uploading the current genealogy file, but the online one is defiantly out dated. I will try a small one.
