I have done some testing bewteeen 3.1 and 3.2 - I have loaded a new set of
MySQL tables for ver 3.2 (using the same GEDCOM file). Lists etc display at
more or less the same speed as with the old version, but if I run
editgedcoms.php there is a delay of at least a minute whilst the page tries
to refresh. Also, when trying to view pedegree or descendency charts, things
run VERY slow and the browser then seems to become unresponsive. I have
noticed that my default pedigree chart misses out the fourth geneartion on
version 3.2 for some reason.

Hi Stuart,

V3.2.x should be faster than 3.1.  3.2 does use the PEAR:DB library to
communicate with mysql instead of the built-in PHP functions, but this has
been faster for me.

 Re my previous message - I have now removed ALL the files except config.php
and replaced them with version 3.2.1 files - it now runs without errors but
is VERY slow accessing any data from MySQL so I have reverted to 3.1 for the
time being. Any reason as to why data access should be a problem?

When I upload the new files for version 3.2.1, following the update
instructions in readme.txt I get the following errors. I have copied in my
original config.php and authentication_mysql.php and chmod these to 777.
I
have checked that the index file (relocated into
/files/home2/phethean/cgi-bin/index) is also chmod to 777. If I use the
original config files it all starts up ok, but I don't want to loose any
subscriber data in the mysql database!
