Paul, =20 I'm not sure what the GoDaddy tech support people are talking about. Since the windows permissions are completely different from linux permissions, changing the permissions in Windows won't have any affect on the permissions once the file gets to linux... assuming you are using a linux server. =20 What FTP program do you use to upload your files? =20 --John =20 ________________________________ From: php...@li... I created and executed the setpermissions.php file you suggested, and got the "permissions changed" message back, but when I checked the properties on ./index/ and config.php, they evidently did not change. And when I try to run the setup on the server, it reports I don't have permission to make the required changes. =20 Now GoDaddy's tech support people are saying I can't change the permissions once the files are on their server, and I should change the permissions before I upload them. Do you think that's possible (if I don't have php operating on my PC)? If so, how do I do it? =20 Is there any way you can send the program out with the permissions set correctly? =20 Thanks, Paul |
