#941 Wanting options to turn on/off ...

The gender symbols for an individual are overkill in the pedigree views. A standard pedigree chart has no need for a symbol denoting gender for a father or mother position! I would like to see an option to turn this on / off.

Also the showing of age at death, at marriage should also be an option.

And finally, I believe it should be an option to turn on / off buried x days after death. A little over the top in my opinion.

I just prefer to output data instead of the extra "fluff". For me and possibly others, keeping it simple makes a more professional presentation.

I agree. However, there should be only one option that will turn off all the extra fluff in Pedigree, etc. boxes. There will be a separate option for eliminating thumbnails from the Pedigree boxes.

These options will be in the GEDCOM configuration, "Display and Layout" section, "Hide and Show" group.

I'll implement this for version 4.1.5 -- it's too late to do anything about this for version 4.1.4

The "no thumbnails" option is already implemented. Look in the Multi-Media section, "General" option group.

A lot of the other options for controlling the appearance of the chart boxes are incorrectly put into the "Names" option group instead of the "Hide and Show" group. They will be moved.

Thank you for considering my suggestion. I noticed some earlier comments similar to mine so I appreciate you looking into these enhancements.

This is a great a program and it's only going to get better. Before knowing of this project I did not know or understand open source software. I'm very grateful to all of you that put so much into this and other great projects. Keep up the hard work. I will be making a donation from time to time to help support.

The option to eliminate the person's gender icon on charts is implemented in SVN 2758 for version 4.1.4. It *might* make it into the upcoming version 4.1.4 release. If not, it will be in version 4.1.5
