Hi,

I'm sure this has already been considered and I apologize if there's duplication, but I'd love to see PHPGV have a "timeline" tab, which allowed you to overlay the course of a relative's life against major contemporary events (death of queens, outbreaks of wars, economic slumps, invention of machines etc etc). It would give a wonderful contextual richness to that person's life-details.

Thanks for a great program anyway!

    This feature already exists.

    Look at the file: languages/histo.demo.php

This does already exist - although not as a separate tab (possibly better?)
If you look in the pgv/languages folder there is a file called 'hist.demo.php'. If you copy that and name it 'histo.en.php' (for English language) you can add similar entries to the ones it contains (as many as you want). Once the new file is uploaded there will be a check box at the top if the Individual Details tab beside the 'Events of close relatives'. All the historical events you have loaded, that occurred within that individuals lifetime will then be listed in the correct chronological place.

If you look in the Patches section here someone else recently posted a copy of their histo file for download.

Search the forum and the Wiki for the intended use of the file histo.en.php

Thanks so much to all for this help. I hadn't figured out about histo.en.php and wouldn't have without this assistance.

    Cheers!
