It would be nice to have a visualization of locations based on (configurable) birth, marriage, death, ... from a whole family on one map.

Even better would be to have visualization of multiple generations ... in order to have a visual research capabilities on geographic dispersion ...

Color coding of flags based on generation ...

Perhaps the map features of TNG could contribute some ideas.

I think they have something where a map can contain multiple "pin" icons, each showing different events in the database.

Do you mean the Unicenter TNG map features or do you reffer to other technologies?

Also, the notice in the original message has two components:
    - ability to have googlemap for multiple generations (e.g. familitree on a map ... ) instead of the curent limited usage for visualisation of one persons events
    - visualisation according to:
    * based on type of event (burth day, mariage, ... ) - e.g. e specific icon
    * based on generation showed (e.g. color coding of above icon)

The current ability to link icons (nationality flags) to a location in the system has no big added value since New York does reside in USA and Paris in France ... you see that in the map ...

This is right on point to what I was looking for. Possibly mapping the results of a query.
