I would like to see all the place-locations that have no GEDCOM place.

    Melizza - can you clarify?

Do you mean you want to list place that have been loaded into the Googlemap place-locations table, but don't have a matching location in the gedcom places table?

If yes, then I have two more questions:

1 - The Googlemap table is universal (one for all gedcom files) - so do you mean no match in all gedcoms. or in one specific chosen gedcom file?

2 - do you want to do anything with the list - like delete all those entries?

If I understand you correctly, then, in a way, this does exist. When I clean up the Googlemap table I do this:
1 - on the "Edit Geographic place locations" screen click on the "Show inactive places" at the top. "Inactive places" are ones with no match in the gedcom files. If the delete "X" is red, then you can safely delete them, as they have no entries at lower levels.

    1. On my production site I have so far only one GEDCOM file. But yes, I mean if the location is not in use in any GEDCOM file.

    2. Yes, I would like to remove any place-locations that no longer exist in my GEDCOM files. I do not plan to remove the countries, only lower level places.

I do not understand what you write about the red X-s. I see red X-s for all the lowest level places. It does not matter if they have or do not have any linked GEDCOM places.

My places are in most cases not defined with 4 levels.
I write Helsinki, Finland or Boulder, CO, USA.

Are you loking at the "Place check" screen or "Edit Geographic place locations"?
I was referring to "Edit Geographic place locations". On there, yes all places at the lowest level will have red 'X's because they have nothing lower linked to them.

At the top of the same page, do you have a "Show inactive places" option? This is not the best answer, but if you know what places are listed BEFORE you check that box, then any place that is added to the list AFTER you tick it will have no place from your gedcom file associated with it, and can therefore be safely deleted.

However, I'm sure it will not be too hard, when I have a moment, to add another option here for "Show ONLY inactive places". I think it should be a ver 4.2 change though? I also aim to add the option to select then delete a number of places at one time.
