An option to set all direct line ancestors of a specified individual to be preferred and display them in a bold typeface. This way, one could navigate up and down through the generations in charts, and easily find your way.

    Do you mean bold the direct line according to who's logged in, or according to the GEDCOM's administrator?

    A very interesting idea.

    I wanted to respond to laie_techie's comment RE: Set Direct Line as Preferred in Bold, but it's very a very complicated sourceFORCE.net Tracker reply interface! So I'll just use this "AND/OR Attach A Comment: (?) " comment box (You'd think they'd make it easy, like an email reply);

    You have a very important point. Often, when a someone is looking at your gedcom, you wonder whether if it would be more informative if they were looking at it from the administrator's point of view or the visitor's or member's point of view. I guess it should be set by the administrator as an option, then the member should have the ability to change it. In this way, if a member have the ability to add to the gedcom, they should be able to set their own preferred line. Does this make sense?
