Don't show AKA names on individual list

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, but I couldn't
find it.
Is there a way to turn off the option to have AKA
names appear on the individual list? For example, in
my tree appears the surname ARP. One source I found
had it misspelled as AARP. I put these alternate
misspellings in the AKA field in PAF. After
importing my GED, I go to the Individual List and
there is an option for AARP and for ARP. How do I
set it up so that only ARP would appear?
Please don't tell me to go back and remove all the
misspellings out of the AKA field as I have been
doing this since I started genealogy 5 years ago and
have it in almost every one of my 5300 individuals.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Most people want the AKA names to be shown. Isn't the whole
point of recording the AKA and other alternate names so that
you can find them by alternate spellings? Are you sure this
is what you want?
Anyway, it would be fairly easy to add a configuration
option for this.
In the meantime... just empty the pgv_names table in the
database.

I believe that the new list tables that group all if an indis names into 1 row will make this muss less of an issue.
