It would be helpful to add a list of individuals who
are not linked to any families or who are linked to a
family, but whose all family-members are only linked to
this family.
An easy way to detect those stand-alone records :
- Select indilist or famlist
- Scroll to the recently added "sortable" list
- Click on Trees button to see indis with no parents (no FAMC)
There you should see only oldest ancestors for each name.

I have no idea what you are referring to. I have v. 4.0.1
and if I go to Lists > Individual List or Lists > Family
List, neither page has anything like a "sortable" list, nor
a "Trees" button. Am I in the wrong area? Where should I be?

I understand that the "Trees" is now "Root" in the sorttable list.
It is not clear to me how the list tells me which families are stand-alone.
It is not clear to me how GedCheck informs me of stand-alone families.
Is it "Nothing references this record;"?
If I am not mistaken, it informs on stand-alone individuals, not unlinked families.

Select the option that says "show all records". In the "second phase" of the output, each unrelated group of individuals is separated by a horizontal line.
This is an "accidental feature". As soon as a better option is available, I'll remove it.

The GedCheck module will identify these. See patch [1492540]

This would be extremely useful for my one-name-study
GEDCOM, also!
