No

The problem: Some family members have been raised in
families with one natural and one step-parent, yet
only appear in displays of their birth families. In
more than one case on my site, the natural family
never actually existed except on the birth
certificate. These step-relationships cannot be
found anywhere on a PGV site, and are often missed
even when diligently sought.

The solution: Including the families of previous
spouses on the Near Relatives view under a header of
Spouse's Family with (NAME) showing the children of
that union as Step-Son/Daughter (in much the way that
Father or Mother's family with... is handled) would
be much better than my current work-around of linking
such offspring (when raised by the new family) in
both families, and adding NOTEs to explain that no
formal adoption occurred, but that the child was
raised as if a son/daughter. Ugh!

Even better: Make this display optional in the
gedcom config (Display previous families of spouses?
Y/N)

This should already be in place and has been for quite some
time. I have complicated families as you describe and they
show up in the close relatives tab and on charts as they should.

Do you have a URL that I can look at where you think things
    are being shown incorrectly?

Unfortunately, the only instances which readily come to
mind are still living, and thus require an account and
    login to display.

If you e-mail me at jmg(at)gilhousenfamily(dot)dom, I will
expedite getting that access set up for you.

Meanwhile, I'll look to see if I can find a publicly
viewable case. Further complicating coming up with a
viewable example, for most such instances, I think I have
applied the previously mentioned (and exceedingly clumsy
and potentially misleading) work-around, so the display
    would not help with diagnosis.

You did understand that I am talking about the close-
relatives page on the individual view of a stepchild,
right? Family showing Mother and Step Father has never
shown up in any version of PGV I've had running back to
    1.x. I'm currently running 3.3.8
