I have written a small script which checks the language files for various anomalies:
1) Using single quotes ($pgv_lang['text']) instead of double quotes ($pgv_lang["text"]).
2) Defining the same text more than once.
3) Defining text that does not appear in the English text files.
The first case can cause problems for some of the translation tools
The second and third cases are not necessarily errors; the text may be used elsewhere in the langauge file (e.g. to construct other text) or used in optional files (e.g. relationship names). However, most of them appear to be old/unused.
I'll post the anomalies for each language separately.

Could we add the script to the "Edit and configure language files" menu?

Option 3) is used in Hebrew files to split long texts into two parts.
