    Hey Gurus..
    phpGedView is simply amazing. But I missed the Portuguese Language... How can I help you to translate it to Port?  Thanks!

      Hi Thomas

      You just grab a copy of: configure_help.en.php,
      facts.en.php and lang.en.php from the languages folder in your copy of phpGedView.

      Next you rename the files to: configure_help.xx.php,
      facts.xx.php and lang.xx.php where the xx must be replaced by letters for the Portuguese Language.

      Inside these files you have to replace the English texts to the right with the corresponding Portuguese texts.

      i.e.:

      $pgv_lang["error_title"]        = "ERROR: Cannot open GEDCOM file";

      $pgv_lang["error_title"]        = "This part is replaced by your Portuguese translation";

      Once your translation is done, you can place your translated files under Patches in the Tracker, or you can send them to John Finlay =  yalnifj at users.sourceforge.net

      If you uses international characters in your translation you should be aware that most editors at the Windows platform creates three bytes at the start of the files, which tend to seriously disturb PHP. My advice is to use html entities to represent international characters.

      best regard

      Arne has filled you in on most of the details.  There are some other instructions about adding languages in the readme documentation.

      Go to the patches section of the website:
      https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=55456&atid=477081

      and submit a new patch for the language files.  I will grab them from the patch and add them to the project.

      If others want a portuguese translation they can also download the patch before the next release comes out.
