    Hi to all,
I tried to upgrade 3.3.8 to 4.0.2 following the instructions in the wiki.
I'm not able to upgrade though, I don't have a clue wat to do about
    the error-messages displayed:

Maybe someone has a hint for me….
    Thanks and regards,
    Heike

    Heike:
Your best approach to upgrading is to ignore the upgrade script altogether.  The only time this script might help is if your site has a lot of registered and active users.

When going from 3.3.8 to any 4.x version, you need to make sure you have an up-to-date copy of the GEDCOM.  Simply set up a completely new site (in a different web-accessible directory), and then upload and import that GEDCOM into the database.

When setting up your site, you MUST create the database outside PhpGedView.  PGV will create the required tables, but it will NOT create the database.

When everything is working, change the directory names and your new site should function properly.

NOTE:  Depending on which new version of PGV you're running, you MAY need to manually edit file "config.php" when you change the web-accessible directory name.  There's a "server URL" entry in the "config.php" file that should be made empty so that you can change the directory name as you wish.

You'll have to re-upload and re-link the media files, and you'll have to create all of the users.
