installation of phpGedView was a breeze but when I setup Research Log (0.6b) everything went well until login.  Per the note, I initially used admin/admin and was denied because  "User ID and Password do not match" .  Tried upcase/lowcase/mixed case and even located the source in php to see if an errant space had been programmed in.  I'm at a loss.  How does one get past the gatekeeper?

thanks and Happy New Year to all

There is a bug in the Research Log where on some systems the function used to encrypt the passwords returns a string larger than the database was setup to hold.

There is a patch file that you may download to fix this problem here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/phpgedview/rs_patch061b.php?download

Just copy it to the same folder as the rest of the research log files and point your browser to it.  It will upgrade the database for you.  If you have any problems with it then let me know.

      Thanks,

      Thanks.

I'm flying high now.  Any reason that this couldn't be called dynamically from the main program.  ie.  I'm researching Joseph John FINLAY :--) and from the pedigree or family group sheet pages, there is another icon for the Research Log that would take you to JJF's specific Research Log area?

      Very nice program

I plan to tie the two programs together as you suggested, eventually.  Right now I am focusing most of my time on PhpGedView, but I expect that I will be able to do this within the year.

      Thanks,
