I think I have misunderstood something. I am trying to edit a fact (a note) as a test. It tells me that it has done it - the gdbi window says update successful. However no update is done - the database isn't updated, Do I need to download and install the jar files for this editing or only for when I use the sep gdbi client. If I have to then that means I would have to ask each person that may update/edit to download ?

by the way - love the portal and the ideas for it

    cheers

    Jim

If you click the "close window" link it will reload your original page.  Old data will be outlined in red, new data will be outlined in blue.

If you closed the window using the "X" then just hit reload and then click on the "show changes" link under the persons name.

For changes to actually be commited to the database you have to reimport your gedcom file.  This allows you to undo changes you or another user made before they are commited to the database.  If anyone has made changes, there will be a link on the bottom of each page to the "Accept/Reject changes" page.  This page allows you to see what types of changes were made and undo the changes by simply clicking an "undo" link next to the change.
