I think I may be missing something here and hope someone has an answer.
I've been trying to get 3.0 rc2 instaled in a subdirectory for testing purposes. Problem is geting it to function correctly.
I want to set it up in a directory of:
www.domainname.net/GedView/phpGedView
However, I keep geting errors, the first was related to the {INDEX_DIRECTORY}, it said could not find
${INDEX_DIRECTORY}johnston[1].GED_conf.php
download and copy to ./index/ which I did with no improvement. After the move I could access the test site, but now it will not allow me to change the default theme view. I do not get any errors.
After making the change in the configuration file, it appears to work, but the default theme stays as the Standard.
In ver 2.65.x after any config change, you would be redirected to a 2nd page to "import" gedcom for update, this 2nd page doesn't show with the 3.0 ver install.
Is this related to the sub-directory path I'm using ?

After using RC2 and updating from CVS and all the index issues seem to be gone now.
John
Thanks John,
That did it.
For testing purposes, I first installed the original rc2 and got lots of errors related to index and config files.
Deleted all (dB and files) and reinstalled with 3.0 rc2 release date 4/11 and received the {INDEX_DIRECTORY} error.
Replaced all files updated since release date, reindexed and ran config again with no error messages.
To the team, 3.0 with current files is Awesome... Great work.
