    Tim Hockin - 2010-01-03

My I record is named "Timothe Pierre Traverne /Hockin/".  I expect to be able to search for "Tim Hockin" and PGV will find it, but that is not the case.

When I search (top right of screen search box) for "Tim Hockin" I get results for other Timothy Hockin indivuals, but not myself.  My own Family record shows up, but not my Individual record.  Some others, such as "Timothy George /Hockin/" show up in both Individual and Family results.

    Why doesn't mine?

Yes, I can see the same if I search for myself on my site. Only my FAM record appears if I use only part of my given name.

But interestingly, if I search for "Tim Hockin" on your site, I DO find you. So it must be using the logged-in user's XREF if it exists.

I would say thats a bug. I'll leave you to report it. I guess very few of us ever bother to search for ourselves :-)

Could be the privacy filtering.  You shouldn't get search results where the search-text is in "private" data.

IIRC there is already a bug report for this, where the search text exists in both public and private data.

There is some kind of bug I reported, not yet diagnosed, where search shows certain individuals in families but not in the individual list.  Obviously, if these individuals were unmarried, they would not show up at all.  http://UniGen.us/PGV/ has several of these.  One, who is deceased and thus not requiring login is Omer Groleau.  I have studied the GEDCOM of at least four such individuals and at least two that do not show the bug, and was unable to identify anything in the GEDCOM to explain it.
