    Here is the problem. A family has Husband A, Wife B, children C, D, E, F, G. Also E is married etc.
If I look at E's tree, I just get a solitary box, with no wife, no parents, no brothers are mentioned.
If I look at any of the other A, B, C, D, F or G then E shows up as child or brother.
This sounds like some kind of privacy setting, but here are the settings:

I just started two days ago, everything default except changed privacy settings so that only authenticated users can view anything.

I uploaded a GEDCOM. The privacy settings page says:

      General Privacy settings
Show dead people Show only to authenticated users
Show living names Show only to authenticated users
Show sources Show only to authenticated users
Enable Clippings Cart Show only to authenticated users
Show Research Assistant Show only to authenticated users
Show Multi-Site Search Show only to authenticated users
Limit Privacy by age of event No
Use GEDCOM (RESN) Privacy restriction No
    Show private relationships No
    Use relationship privacy No
    Max. relation path length 3
    Check marriage relations Yes
Age at which to assume a person is dead 120

      Privacy settings by ID
Add new setting for Privacy by ID
ID Show to? Show only to authenticated users

the rest of the settings are default

    Hello otislamont -

It looks like you have things set up according to the default Privacy rules, but I am not in my PGV to confirm each setting right now. To answer what I think is your question, you cannot see more about E (assuming E is still living) because you are "too far away" in the family tree. You don't say which of these people you are, or what your relationship is to them (except my assuming they are your family members, or you wouldn't be going through all this work :) !

Anyway, the Privacy settings are discussed in the Wiki - http://wiki.phpgedview.net/en/index.php?title=FAQ:Privacy and you can search this Forum for more issues that have been addressed in the recent past.

One suggestion I have for you is to create a "regular" User account for yourself to also use. Things sometimes get confusing when you are logged in as the Admin and can get to everything, but really can't test what it would be like for the other Users of your site after you have made Settings changes. I set up a site for my wife to maintain and this was the $million$ lifesaver of many sleepless nights !

Good Luck and Welcome to PGV !

    RL

Before we just assume its a privacy issue, is it possible to visit your site, perhaps with a user account, to gauge exactly what the problem is? Email me details via the link to my profile here (Click on "kiwi_pgv")

Its probably not a "relationship privacy" issue, as you do have that set to 'No'.

Thanks for your offers of help, but I finally fixed it just by reloading the original GED file and starting over.

To try and figure out the problem, I saved the GED file that was created by phpgedview. I noticed that an individual was listed in his own family and his parents family, but his own individual GED record somehow did not contain FAMS and FAMC lines which reference the two families (unlike the original GED file that I had uploaded).

    Thanks.
