Have installed module googlemaps as per WIKI and set locations via googlemap for top level country and next level state. Then i took one state and set coordinates for each location and it worked fine. But when i go to a person record with only locations in this state and all places have valid coordinates I get a big blank colourless box when i click on Map tab. Not even a world map in the box.
Config is to use google maps for places.
This has got me beat for the minute.

No error messages or anything? What about if you "View Source" to see if there are any errors on the page?
Can I assume that the places you added to GM are IDENTICAL in spelling and format to the places in your GEDCOM file? Can you give us an example?
Can we see it on your site?

I'm taking a guess: on the "blank map," zoom out. I'm guessing you will find that the center is in the "palm" of Africa's "boxing glove." Corrdinates zero, zero, or undefined.
If that's it, I have the same problem. The only way I know to fix it is a lot of work on your places tabel, or on your PLAC tags. Or both.

There are no errors in the source page view and also having set config not to use mouse wheel for zoom and also to display map controls these do not show. The box for the map is blank and cannot be zoomed so there is not the part of africa there as box is same colour as rest of background page.
If you give me your email address i will email a login for you for site.

places were imported from the gedcom file in which i use just 3 parts for a place.
In uk : village, county, country e.g. Scotter, Lincolnshire, England
in Canada : town, province, country e.g. Toronto, Ontario, Canada
in US : town, state, country i.e. Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA
first i set the coordinates for the country, then for the county/province/state and then for each town using the edit places and that goes well though not all are finished….Canada is finished completely as that has the most entries and i view pple with only canadian places to check googlemaps.

I'm having the same issue. Followed the instructions and still have a blank map and a note to the right "No map data for this person"

thats not the same issue at all. doonhammer just had a totally blank map. His list of places was fine.
Your problem is exactly what it says - you have to lat/long coordinates for any of the places defined for that person.
It sounds like you followed the instructions to install the module OK - but thats the easy part :-(
Now you have to load coordinates for every place in your data file. Here is the WIKI article about that:
