If the pictures are attached to a living person's gedcom record they should not be shown in the random picture box. But if the picture is attached to a family or a source then it could appear in the box. You can tell what item the program thinks the image is attached to by the link that is created under the picture to view the person or family.

Could this be related to my other topic about privacy for dead people not working? I haven't tried the fix that you suggested yet, but hope to get to it tonight.
I am using the latest version of PGV over mySQL and have all of the patches installed.

I have my privacy settings so that the public cannot see details of living people which, should include media.
However, the Random Picture Box often displays the pictures of living people to the public.
Is this a known bug?
