I am new to PhpGedView. I have successfully created my tree with 466 individuals and all their marriage info etc. Struggling a little with the media. I have some photo's uploaded and the thumbnails show up in the charts as they should, but they don't auto display on the "Random Media" on the welcome page, nor do they auto display under the Media Tab of an individual, nor do they auto display under LIST / MEDIA
Please advise.
Must be a setting somewhere?
Barry

Are these media items linked to living or dead people?
The Random Media block will only display images that are linked to dead people. This is governed by your site's Privacy settings - normally, when not logged in, visitors can only see dead peoples' details.
Other things that can affect what's visible include the "highlight" setting in the media object's details. This setting should be either "yes" or blank. If it's "no", that media object will never be selected for the Random Media block.
If you wish, you could send me details on how to access your site with Admin rights so that I can have a closer look. Do NOT give your own admin login credentials - instead, set up a temporary ID with admin rights.

You should be using the "SVN" version of PhpGedView. Download and upgrade/install instructions are in a recent Help topic post whose title begins with "Repost: Download …" The most recent bump of this post occurred around 27 April.

Many thanks. I have created a user account for you and sent an emal to you with the details
Most appreciated
I should be using the latest version, as I only installed it on the 11 May
I received the requested Login credentials. Thanks.
The problem turned out to be that the GD library wasn't installed. This meant that thumbnails were not created automatically during Media Upload.
