I have media in 2 level, protected directories. Since installing 4.2.3 the media in the subdirectories shows as being not linked to any GEDCOM record. This ONLY occurs in the Manage Media screens. The media show up on the individual screens and show the proper linkages when displayed using the List - Media path.

Is the "Multi-Media directory levels to keep" setting correct in the Gedcom configuration/Multimedia?

Yes, it is set correctly.  It is set to 3 even though I only hae 2 levels at the moment.  This used to work.  I still get all the correct linkages shoing when using the Lists -> Multimedia path.

Do you have the GEDFact_assistant module installed?  If not, you should install this module, since it greatly improves the handling of Media links on the Manage Media pages.

canajun2eh - thanks for the reply.  I may not have been clear in my intial post.  ALL my links exist in the GEDCOM and they are correct.  They ALL show properly (both root directory AND subdirectories) when using the Lists -> Multimedia path for showing multimedia.  When using the Manage MultiMedia option available to an administrator, all the links in the ROOT directory show correctly but NONE of the links in the subdirectories are found.   The GEDFact_assistant is to help maintain links, i.e. add, edit, delete them.  I just want to display what is already there.

Can you see the media items in the various sub-directories when you use the Manage Media pages?

When you upgraded to version 4.2.3, did you first export your database to a GEDCOM file using the old version, and then re-import that previously exported GEDCOM after doing the upgrade?

All the media are visible no matter which path I use.   All the media show properly when you look at an individual's pages, when you access the media via the Manage MultiMedia command, or when you access the media by going Lists -> MultiMedia.  The media are all located properly in the root and subdirectories.  The ONLY problem seems to be showing the links for media located in subdirectories when accessing those directories via the Manage Multimedia screens.

Please e-mail me:  gkroll at keldine dot ca

I'll need the site URL and a Login ID and password with admin rights.  It's wise to create a temporary one that you can delete when we're done.  I do NOT wish to know your personal Admin userid and password.

I might need to use FTP to access your site.  We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
