I have uploaded a 2nd gedcom. How can I work on the 2nd gedcom, while the public sees the 1st one, which is the default?

Someone smarter than me will be along, but a quick answer:
if your URL reads - http://www.family.net/individual.php?pid=I001&ged=firstfamily.GED, you can change the last part of the URL to the name of the "secondfamily.ged"

No sure I'm any 'smarter' than Thomas, but as we host 4 gedcoms, this is a regular issue.

Use the WELCOME icon in the header and select the GEDCOM that you wish to work within. The URL will change as Thomas has indicated. Reselect the default when you are ready to move back.
    Hope this helps, Stephen

thanks, I use:   website/phpgedview/         as my url. I tried a couple of variations of what thomasadkins suggested, but i could not bring up the 2nd one.  I'll just select 2nd one as the default

The "welcome page" menu item should have an entry for each gedcom.  Don't you have one?

Maybe you disabled gedcom switching in your site config?

Yes, gedcom switching works on the welcome page. But i did not want the public to be able to see the second gedcom until it was ready. Yet I wanted to be able test the 2nd gedcom while only the 1st one was visible.

Dietmar, you can go into your gedcom configuration (for the 2nd gedcom) and set it so that only the administrator can view it. I forget what the option is but it's one of the first ones.
