    Hi John,

sorry to "disturb" you but I have some bugs in v2.02 :-(

In the descendary cart layout the boxes of the individuals hide the buttons to hide, show, choose ID etc.

In the descendary cart you link with "find ID" to a new window, where a filter can be set. If the string is empty you get an error warning like:
empty searchstring causes error output empty delimiter on line 58 in findid.php

On individual page the highligted picture thumb of individual is not shown anymore since I cahnged the depth of the media-directories.

On multimedialist-page the multimedia objects and their info are not shown anymore. V2.0 showd them correctly. Only the message:
xxx media objects found is show, but no info or thumbs of pictures.

On sourcelist-page the following gedcom record:

      0 @S2@ SOUR
      1 TITL Kirchenbuch 1565-1887
1 AUTH Evangelische Kirche Elingen (OA, Elingen)
1 PUBL Salt Lake City: Gefilmt durch The Genealogical Society of Utah, 1977
1 NOTE Mikrofilme aufgenommen von Manuskripten im Wttembergisch - Evangelischen Landeskirchenamt St
      2 CONC uttgart.

    brings the error:
Warning: Missing argument 3 for print_main_notes() in d:\www.norgaz.de\Ahnen\functions.php on line 1235

    The following gedcom record:
      0 @S7@ SOUR
      1 TITL Geburtsurkunde von Kevin
      1 NOTE Offizielle Geburtsurkunde
      1 _ITALIC Y
      1 OBJE
      2 FORM jpg
      2 FILE D:\www.norgaz.de\Ahnen\media\kurt\Kevin - Abstammungsurkunde - Seite 1.jpg
      2 TITL Geburtsurkunde Kevin
      2 NOTE Offizielle Geburtsurkunde
      2 _SCBK N
      2 _PRIM N
      2 _TYPE PHOTO

    brings the following errors:
Warning: Missing argument 3 for print_main_notes() in d:\www.norgaz.de\Ahnen\functions.php on line 1235
Warning: Missing argument 3 for print_main_media() in d:\www.norgaz.de\Ahnen\functions.php on line 1291

This is all for the moment...

    Bye, Kurt

Another wish for the next version:

      - Line breaks in NOTE-fields of multimediaobjects are defined inside PAF-Gedcoms with ~~.

It would be nice, if phpGedView would support this line breaks too.

      1 OBJE
      2 FORM jpg
      2 FILE media\kurt\kurt - 0014.jpg
2 TITL Karl Rudolf Fallscheer mit Enkel Kurt
2 NOTE Aufnahmedatum: Maerz 1966~~Der stolze Opa.
      2 _SCBK Y
      2 _PRIM N
      2 _TYPE PHOTO
      2 _SSHOW Y

The NOTE-field should be displayed as:

      Aufnahmedatum: Maerz 1966
      Der stolze Opa.

and not as phpGedView does now:

      Aufnahmedatum: Maerz 1966~~Der stolze Opa.

      I don't see a "~~" defined in the GEDCOM 5.5 specification.

perhaps you should use the CONT tag.

      CONT {CONTINUED}: =
An indicator that additional data belongs to the superior value. The information from the CONT value is to be connected to the value of the superior preceding line with a carriage return and/or new line character. Leading spaces could be important to the formatting of the resultant text. When importing values from CONT lines the reader should assume only one delimiter character following the CONT tag. Assume that the rest of the leading spaces are to be a part of the value.

      ie

      2 NOTE Aufnahmedatum: Maerz 1966
      3 CONT Der stolze Opa.

        Hi Mark,

you may be right and the ~~ is not specified in gedcom 5.5.
But this doesn't change the problem :-(

PAF 5.2.18.0 exports the NOTE of an OBJE-Field with ~~ if there are linebreaks in this field. So I have no choice to use CONT or not.

That's the reason why I wrote this here. phpGedView has also some other routines build in that support such problems of different ancestry-programs.

        bye, Kurt

By the way: Where do I find the original description of gedcom 5.5?

Don't know why but the problem with the source-records I described above doesn't exist anymore :-)

But there is something else that I don't understand. Maybe I have done a mistake with the data inside the gedcom.
I added a source to a living people.
This source includes a photo of the birth-certificate of this person. Normally this source should not be shown because I only allow users who are logged in to see the data of living people.

Can it be that I forgot something in the private.php or is this a general problem??? Maybe I should not include such data into the source-record of living people???

      bye, Kurt

      Kurt,

I've fixed most of the problems you found in version 2.03.

The one thing I couldn't fix is the birth-certificate in the shource.  This is one of the problems I have with the GEDCOM standard.  There are too many ways to record sources.  Instead of putting the image in the source I would either attach it to the person or to the source citation if you can.
