some of my family would like to download the scans of certificates etc I've uploaded to my site.
How do they print online or download locally. Sorry if this is a very basic question but I cannot work it out.

To get a decent quality printout may take a resolution that makes the file way too big for web viewing. I'd just add a download link for the high-res original to the reduced size file I* display on screen.

There is also an option in the configuration which allows you to enable a download link in the image viewer.
You can find this in :
Magange gedcome and privacy
Configuration file
Multimedia
Show download link in Media Viewer Yes No
I didn't try it but you might want to use it for your application specs.
