I have the problem that only 4 out of 7 possible pdf-reports are being shown on my page.
A view years ago I had the same problem and I was advised to delete the reports.dat-file
from the index-directory. It worked fine then.
When I deleted again this time, I got a fatal error trying trying to start any report, something having to
do with "function startElement($parser, $name, $attrs) {
global $elementHandler, $processIfs, $processGedcoms, $processRepeats;" in reportheader.php
and something else in reportpdf.php
I uploaded my reports.dat-backup and at least the 4 reports are working again.
Trying to sort things out I checked reports.dat and noticed, that only those 4 reports are listed there.
I have no clue however, how / if I'd be able to edit this file.
So what should I do in order to have all 7 reports displayed and in working order again?
Thanks,
Heike

Hi, thanks for replying.
Strange, I didn't find reports.php indeed. Maybe it went lost while trying to upgrade.
And although I've a backup of my index-directory, I didn't find reports.php there either.
Is there a possibility to restore / upload reports.php?
I didn't find a file reports.php searching the installing-files for phphGedView 3.3.8 either.

Heike

The file "index/reports.dat" is created automatically when someone clicks on the "Reports" menu.
Version 3.3.8 is sooooooo ooooooold, that nobody is able to support it any longer. There probably isn't a file "reports.php", so don't waste your time looking for it.
If you're having trouble getting some of the reports to work, you should try replacing the entire contents of the "reports" directory with fresh copies of the files. DO NOT try to copy this directory from any version of PGV other than the one you're running.

For testing only, I maintain a 3.3.8 install on my laptop. If you provide me by email a good address, I'll zip the reports.php and reports folders and send them to you.

@canajun2eh,
thanks for your patience and trying to assist with this really oooold version. For someone who is using her pc mainly for
writing e-mails / letters / storing pictures / surfing the www / taking care of ancestry, it is not that easy to handly all the
technical details and to find a provider where I know they will take good care, my site will be reachable all the time and who
provides all things necessary to run the new PGVs (i.e. currently my memory limit is 16M, you advised 64M, while searching
I noticed only view provider lists the memory limit and with my current provider I'd have to change in a far more costly,
business, tariff to have this memory limit; current provider still changing from php 4 to 5 etc.)
While searching for a solution I noticed there are still a lot of homepages PGV 3.3.8, apparently they don't have my
problems or they choose to live with them :-)
@ Peter,
thanks, that would be great! I'll send you an e-mail

The instructions to delete the file "index/reports.dat" are correct. You must have deleted "reports.php", which is NOT in the "index" directory.
