I've imported a 13,000 person gedcom file into this great program. I received the gedcom file from a cousin. I know there is a relationship between two people for which I have their ID's and names. But I can't find which people they have in common.
Is there a way to enter the two names or two ID numbers and have the first person common to both show up?
Thank You!

Have you used the relationship chart feature? This is the calculator that is used to find relationships you describe and show them graphically. If you have set your own INDI-ID number in your user profile (admin > users) and you navigate to the INDI page for the desired relationship person, you'll see a direct calculator under CHARTS in the sub-menu, that will read:
Relationship Chart: frankpc (your full name). If the relationship is quite convoluted, and you have limited memory and php script processing time, the procedure may time out, depending on the speed of your server's processor(s). Then, you'll either have to provide PGV with more RAM and/or more time. -Stephen

Thank you Stephen. I found the tool you describe. I was able to put the two INDI-ID numbers in it and it displayed their relationship! That is really nice and a very valuable tool.
However, I couldn't find the place that allows me to set my number. I know what my INDI-ID number is, of course and I guess doing what you describe quickly shows you your relationship with the person's page you are looking at. I looked in Admin- Site Administration - User Administration - …. Is that close?
Thanks for your quick response. That tool is perhaps the most valuable tool I've found. Program is great!

I certainly don't mind helping, but most of what you have asked is self-evident and certainly part of familiarizing yourself with PGV. I even provided some direction on the personal settings, but its obvious you have not even used or perused the USER Admin pages.
Either from the Portal page, User Admin > User List and select your account (Full Name > click). Select INDI ID's for two categories:
GEDCOM INDI record ID
and
Pedigree Chart Root Person
Since you obviously have not used this page, I would suggest too that you look at some of the other settings, particularly (for you) auto-accept changes.
I strongly suggest you familiarize yourself with the thousands of configuration options in the Admin > GEDCOM Edit Config and EDIT Privacy, as well as the other management tools available.

Thanks Stephen. I have used those pages as I activate each user's account. But I didn't know what those terms meant. I have now entered my ID # in both slots.
There is a lot to learn about this and I am trying to get as much built as quickly as possible so those people who I hope will contribute information will be able to do so without my getting in their way.
Thanks again,
Frank

You can get to the same place by Admin > User Admin > User List or directly with the URL:
