    I created a user account (via admin as he was on the phone). Set person to his Indi number. In Admin, I searched for I83 and went to his page. Whle he was logged in, he searched for I83 and got no results. Think I've seen this posted before but not sure if it was for 4.2.3 so don't know if this is suppose to still happen.

    Additionally, if he searches for his father or grandfather, the Search Results  says, under the buttons, { }
    show parents
    Total families: o
    Hidden: 3

    He cannot view his father, or grandfather which I thought was back door to viewing his record
    WHY? I do not want anything blocked unless I speciffically chosen the option as confidential (event/fact).

    After logging in, a user should view his/her own record through the header - PORTAL - icon and select "my individual record", assuming you set the preferences correctly in their account.  There is a known bug on searching for one's self.

    If he/she can't view his relatives, and is logged into an active account, then the account is not properly configured.
    From his/her own record they should see relatives, or through the header - PORTAL - icon and select "view my pedigree"

    May I ask the obvious? Have you checked the log to confirm yhat this user actually logged in? Or have you used his/her login credentials and tried it yourself?  Or, have you selected another live person, not a current user, and established user credentials for this INDI-ID identical to the I83 config and tested it? If so, and you find access impossible, send me an admin access u/n-p/w and I'll look around.

    Stephen: My setting the Access level didn't save as I thought. I emailed my cousin to find himself with the workaround to view himself and family. Fingers crossed he contributes after his trip "back to the old country, Poland" this summer.

    It's not only searching for yourself.  I entered another bug where search finds several people in the family section but does not list them in the individuals list.  I have not been able to find anything in the GEDCOM that correlates with finding or not finding.
