It took awhile but figured 0ut what caused this problem. When I typed the name to start the search, I pressed Enter before the find finished leaving it with a name instead of a FAM number.

If you are getting this error on lien 562, then you are not using release 4.2.2, nor are you using latest SVN…….
I am using 4.2.2 released. No svn added.

As Greg said, that line number definitely cannot cause that error. There is no such reference there in a correct version of that file.
So either you've mis-typed the error message here, or you have a wrong file in your system
Can you first check the error message again, and if its definitely row 562 of edit_interface.php, then send me a copy of that file from your system.
