There is a gedcom tag "ALIA", which is to link two individuals who are (presumed to be) the same person. e.g.
0 @I1@ INDI
1 ALIA @I2@
If you mean an alternative name (a.k.a.), then add a _AKA field to the NAME record. To enable this, add _AKA to the advanced-name-fields option in the gedcom config.
Alternatively (and more compliant with the spec, but less compatible with some desktop apps), create a second name, and add a "1 TYPE aka" to it.
If, by "ALIAS", you mean a "nickname", then use the nickname field on the name editor.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I can't find a way to enter an alias for an individual.
Can anyone guide me?
Thanks
What do you mean by "ALIAS".

Thanks fisharebest.
I mean ALIA. I can add/edit the raw GED ALIA for the individual but wondered if there was a more direct method.
No further assistance required.
I put ALIA in the config and it now shows in "Add new fact".
